The Government of Ontario is moving forward with a landmark investment in public safety by launching a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the new Ontario Emergency Preparedness and Response Headquarters—the most significant upgrade to Ontario’s disaster response infrastructure in over 15 years.
This state-of-the-art complex, to be located in Etobicoke near Toronto Pearson Airport, will serve as a 24/7/365 central command hub for disaster preparedness, emergency coordination, and the deployment of Ontario Corps—the province’s specialized volunteer and professional response teams. With built-in training space, warehousing, and aviation-ready infrastructure, the facility is designed to support response efforts across floods, fires, earthquakes, ice storms, and more.
At SafeSight Exploration, we see this as a pivotal opportunity to enhance Ontario’s disaster response with advanced, field-tested tools that improve situational awareness, safety, and speed of deployment.
“Ontario is showing true leadership by investing in a modern, resilient emergency response system,” said Mike Campigotto, President of SafeSight Exploration.
“Our emergency support technologies—like the SafeScout drones, the Rescue Wheel, and our remote mapping tools—are perfectly aligned to assist teams like Ontario Corps in getting eyes on the scene faster, responding more safely, and protecting more lives.”
SafeSight’s emergency response solutions directly support the type of rapid, coordinated action this new facility is designed to lead:
- SafeScout™ Drones: Our emergency drones can deliver live video, thermal imaging, and digital mapping to command centres—ideal for early-stage incident assessment in remote or inaccessible areas.
- Rescue Wheel: A rugged, motorized rescue basket designed for safe vertical extractions in collapsed or flooded environments—especially effective in mine shafts, tunnels, and confined spaces.
- Remote Drone Mapping: Real-time digital maps of damaged infrastructure help responders plan routes, identify hazards, and prioritize repairs—already used in critical Ontario Corps missions.

As the province works to finalize the facility’s specifications through Infrastructure Ontario’s RFP process, SafeSight Exploration looks forward to contributing solutions that ensure Ontario’s new Emergency Headquarters becomes a hub of innovation, coordination, and safety.
